The fox knows many tricks. The hedgehog knows one good one.

We aren't all in the top 1%, we don't all subscribe to the WSJ

Ivermectin isn't even one of the better cattle dewormers on the market anymore.
If you just juice up the cattle prod a bit more those worms will just come to the surface.

I don't even own a cattle prod

My dad made a set of poles for collecting worms. I was trying to grab the worms that were popping up, but it was still plugged in. Shocking experience, to say the least

Yeah. Cattle prods use far less juice so less likely to get zapped but if you're barefoot you can still feel it a little.

Which is why electric fences are so unpopular.

You know the difference, cattle won't touch electric fence, they can sense it. Occasionally a tail swing or a young naive calf will test it.
A prod is done with purpose, I'm a cattle whisperer and can handle them quietly. The use of a prod, when the cattle are confined and already in flight mode is unnecessary, it also escalates the risk for the cow and the people working them.

I actually don't speak much at all when working cattle, it can have the same effect of getting them overly excited. Safety issue, adrenaline also negatively impacts vaccine and antibiotic response.

I hear you. Almost all our cows were pretty damn domesticated. I use to butt heads for fun with one of our bulls. Only time we used the cattle prod was when they would balk up in the chute. You can't shove or cajole a 1 ton cow when it doesn't wanna git up in the truck so, sometimes, a lil zap can work wonders. Only other time (and was for this more than cows) was when I wanted to go fishing.

Yeah, I usually throw a rope or pipe across the chute or alley behind them and tail jack them. It helps to have a catwalk built on the side of the alley.
The wild ones and the jumpers usually get culled out.
